For my artistic followers, though we have computers and technology to aid us in the presentation of photographs, charts, and other visual aids, the simple drawing is sometimes rather effective, and it helps to know the conventions of scientific illustration.

So, for those of you wondering how you learn how to position and draw for biology (or, really, any other scientific field), check this out.

The most embarrassing part of this? That black leather jacket… was actually a full-length trenchcoat.
Yeah. I was such a dork, I could even take something cool like that, and ruin it with an awful sweater and scarf.
Look, I know that I owned a mirror… but it’s like there wasn’t a single person in my life who would say, “You know, you may want to change your clothes…”
Because, even by 80s standards, I was an exceptionally bad dresser.

The amazing thing is that they still shoved this tragedy into a teen-crush mag. Are you wearing one of those ball-chain necklaces?
The good news is that 20 years later, I’m still trying to make my hair look like that.

First fold-up car, Hiriko, unveiled to beat urban stress in EU
A tiny revolutionary fold-up car designed in Spain’s Basque country as the answer to urban stress and pollution was unveiled Tuesday before hitting European cities in 2013.

The “Hiriko,” the Basque word for “urban,” is an electric two-seater with no doors whose motor is located in the wheels and which folds up like a child’s collapsible stroller for easy parking. (Photo: Hiriko)
